Dr. Amy Kroeker, ND is a Licensed Naturopathic Doctor. She graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM), a 4 year medical program focused on training practitioners to treat the underlying cause of disease in an individual manner. The basis of the program focuses on basic medical sciences such as biochemistry, anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
Building on this foundation, treatment modalities are taught which include botanical medicine, traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture, nutrition, lifestyle/physical counselling and therapy, etc. During her training, Amy completed a year-long clinical internship at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic in Toronto as well as a rotation at the Brampton Civic Naturopathic Clinic within the Brampton Civic Hospital.
Prior to being accepted into the Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine program at CCNM, Dr. Kroeker, ND received a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutritional Sciences from the University of Manitoba.
Dr. Kroeker, ND is licensed both in Manitoba through the Manitoba Naturopathic Association (MNA) and in Canada through the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND). Licensing is required to practice within the province of Manitoba and ensures that education, practice standards, and continuing education are maintained.
Dr. Kroeker, ND is also an active member of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M), an organization of physicians and scientists dedicated to the advancement and development of research, tools, science, technology, and protocols that can detect, prevent, and treat chronic diseases associated with aging.
Dr. Kroeker, ND also enjoys teaching; previously as an instructor teaching nutrition to massage therapy students at Robertson College and now currently providing a lecture on Naturopathic Medicine to students enrolled in the Faculty of Pharmacy’s Natural Products Course at the University of Manitoba.
Dr. Kroeker, ND focuses on a general medical practice and sees numerous conditions such as thyroid conditions, digestive concerns (IBS, Crohn’s, colitis, celiac), food allergies, high cholesterol, heart disease, diabetes, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, migraines, acne, eczema, allergies, hormonal imbalance, PMS, peri-menopausal complaints, depression, anxiety, stress, adrenal imbalance, etc. She also has a special interest in skin conditions, optimizing sport performance, and mental/emotional/neurological conditions.
