Happy New Year!

1 01 2014

2013 was a big year for me. I accomplished many of the goals I had been working towards for years. With so many accomplishments I have had a difficult time coming up with new goals for 2014. There are always little adjustments I make to my routines every fall, new year, and spring such as setting meal plans, focusing on drinking more water, or spending daily time outdoors. But the struggle this year is on defining purpose in how I live. I want my actions, whatever they may be throughout the day to speak louder than my words. And so, I’ve come to the conclusion that the greatest resolution I will ever make, whether this year or every year or every day is to be focused on others and not on myself. This is in part inspired by my faith but I also believe that this outward focus on the welfare of others is important for all of us to grow into mature, caring, and responsible people whatever our spirituality.
So my challenge this year is to realign my activities and actions and thoughts to a purpose and goal larger than myself. That’s not to say that I won’t focus on my personal health habits and self-care but that I will do these things because they will allow me to be a better role model, a better practitioner, and a better daughter/sister/friend. Who’s with me?
